Future-oriented compliance solutions
For years, Lexerta has been the partner for organizations where environmental and safety risks have an impact on employees, customers, and their surroundings. They can rely on expertise and tools in the areas of Health & Safety, environment, energy, and food safety. What started with offering legal and regulatory information on CD-ROMs has now evolved into the development of a modular, customizable online compliance software tool.
This way, Lexerta makes it as easy as possible for organizations in the Netherlands and Belgium to be and remain demonstrably compliant. In recent years, a lot of development has taken place, and there is no shortage of future plans. In this article, Joost Baak, director of Lexerta, shares how they differentiate themselves and what strategy is in place for further growth.
Compliance made easy
Lexerta was founded with a clear goal: to help companies demonstrate compliance with laws and regulations, but it now goes further than that. The needs of organizations and (Q)HSE managers are changing. Time and capacity are factors that play a role in this. “QHSE managers should primarily be able to focus on preventing workplace accidents and environmental incidents, and on actually demonstrating compliance,” Joost begins. “But in practice, a lot of time is lost on administrative tasks: keeping track of, interpreting, and recording changes in legal obligations, and documenting how they can comply with them. We make that process more efficient.”
“At Lexerta, we know what’s going on in the field of safe & healthy working, environment, and food safety. You can see that in our tools and content. We continuously work on aligning with practical needs. Our software and content grow along with changing customer needs and market developments,” Joost explains.
Lexerta mainly focuses on medium to large organizations with complex risks. “In sectors such as industry, energy, and transport, compliance is not a side issue, but a fundamental part of business operations. That makes the need for a reliable and efficient solution all the greater.”
Foundation of Success
The triangle of content, software, and knowledge is the foundation of Lexerta’s success. "While many competitors rely on external parties for content or advice, we have everything in-house. That makes us unique," says Joost. "It also ensures higher quality and consistency."
- Content: Lexerta manages and enriches all relevant laws and regulations itself. This data is enhanced with explanations, summaries, and practical interpretations, so customers immediately understand what is relevant to them. As a result, legislation becomes not only transparent but also applicable.
- Software: Lexerta’s tools, Pharius, Riskreporter, and WOM, are developed to make compliance easy. "Compliance Made Easy" is their motto for a reason. With Pharius, customers can, among other things, track changes, create tasks, conduct audits, and demonstrate that they comply with their obligations. Riskreporter provides an extra pair of eyes on the work floor to detect risky situations and take immediate action.
- Knowledge: Lexerta offers extensive support to its customers during the implementation of the tools and ensures they are used to their full potential. In addition, Lexerta has a broad partner network in the Netherlands and Belgium, which is used for additional services, such as conducting on-site audits.
"By combining these three elements, we ensure that organizations not only gain insight into regulations but can actually act on them," Joost continues.
Innovating with AI
To support organizations even better, Lexerta is fully committed to the use of artificial intelligence (AI). For this purpose, Lexerta developed its own AI tool: LexGPT. "LexGPT helps our content specialists to create added value for our users.” Joost emphasizes: “The use of AI ensures that we can work faster and more efficiently, but at Lexerta we will always continue to safeguard quality. We deliberately do not call it an automated process. There is always a content specialist who checks the final result."
The possibilities with LexGPT are enormous. "For example, we also anticipate that in the future we will be able to provide organizations with task suggestions based on changes in laws and regulations that are relevant to them. We will further explore this possibility in the course of 2025.”
Clean and Safe Europe
Lexerta has a clear ambition: to contribute to a clean and safe Europe. "A lot of regulations are determined at the European level. Our clients are increasingly operating in multiple countries and are looking for a uniform compliance solution. That is where we can make a difference," says Joost. "We are exploring the possibilities of rolling out our approach in other European countries as well. Cooperation with local experts is crucial in this. The core remains the same: a unique combination of content, software, and knowledge."
