The step towards Europe; own database Belgium!

Lexerta takes its first step in Europe with its own Belgian database. This way, we increase our control over quality and expand our approach internationally.

In our article ‘the triangle of success’, the strategic pillars on which Lexerta is built are highlighted: content, software, and knowledge. These three elements form the core of our approach to supporting organizations in demonstrably meeting their (legal) HSE obligations, and in creating a safe and reliable working environment. We also shared that we are making concrete plans to roll out our approach in other European countries.

We are proud to share that the first concrete step towards growth outside the Netherlands has been taken: Lexerta has set up its own database in Belgium. Until recently, we were dependent on external parties for legislative data in Belgium. By now managing and enriching Belgian legislation ourselves, Lexerta has full control over the quality of the information and the speed of making it available. The go-live of the database is scheduled for July 1, 2025. From that moment on, our customers in Pharius will benefit from faster and more accurate insight into (changes in) relevant laws and regulations.

Pushing boundaries in compliance

This expansion is just the beginning. Since much legislation and regulation originates from Europe and applies in multiple countries, this offers opportunities to roll out our approach more broadly. The technical foundation is in place; now it’s about the local application of our three pillars: content, software, and knowledge. That’s why we are actively seeking partners in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The strategy is to collaborate with local experts who possess substantive knowledge of regulations. Lexerta provides the tools and data, while the partners ensure the practical translation to each customer’s local situation. Quality comes first: a solid foundation first, then further expansion.

In addition to legislative information and an online compliance tool (Pharius), we also offer Riskreporter as a tool to help companies create a safer working environment. Employees can easily report unsafe situations and incidents with it, so that swift action can be taken. This not only helps to reduce risks but also to demonstrably comply with safety and labor regulations. Riskreporter is now active in several countries, both inside and outside Europe.

Challenges and Opportunities

The biggest challenge lies in the knowledge component: collecting, interpreting, and applying laws and regulations within the correct context of the specific client. Although it is technically possible to quickly and systematically incorporate legislation into Pharius, its practical applicability requires substantive expertise.

That is why the focus is on attracting the right partners with knowledge of the local situation. It is precisely their insight that makes the difference between simply making regulations available and actually being able to apply them in practice.

Lexerta as European Authority

Lexerta has a clear vision for the future: to become the authority in the field of compliance and safe working in Europe.

More and more companies are looking for a solution to comply with European regulations. Whereas national legislation was previously central, regulations are now increasingly being determined from Europe. This means that companies must not only meet local requirements, but also an overarching European framework.

The strategy is clear: growth based on quality. The move to Belgium has proven that the model works, and now we are focusing on further expansion. Many companies now also operate across borders and are looking for a streamlined approach that can be applied in multiple countries. We want to grow along with this demand and offer a solution tailored to European guidelines.

By combining technology with knowledge and practical support, we not only make compliance easier, but we also help companies become stronger and more agile in an increasingly complex international market.
In doing so, we are focusing, among other things, on our own AI solution, LexGPT, to analyze and update laws and regulations more quickly. The interpretation and applicability remain in the hands of our experts. Technology supports, but does not replace them. That is the foundation of our quality.
