Safety and risk management as a core value

SAG Netherlands, formerly Alutech, is part of the Salzburger Aluminium Group and specializes in designing and producing aluminum fuel tanks. The company is a key player in the truck industry and strives for safe and responsible work processes for its employees. To fully identify and manage occupational risks, SAG asked Lexerta to carry out a Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) and to draw up the corresponding Action Plan.

Insight into risks and prioritization of measures

The activities at SAG involve specific risks that must be carefully managed. The aim of the RI&E was to systematically identify and assess all relevant risks, so that targeted measures could be taken. A structured prioritization was crucial to determine which risks needed to be addressed first.

implementation of the RI&E and drafting of the Action Plan

Lexerta identified the risks by making multiple walkthroughs of the company, conducting document studies, and holding discussions with employees. For prioritizing risks, the recognized Fine & Kinney weighting methodology was used. This method classifies risks into five classes, with class five indicating the highest priority.

Based on the results of the RI&E, the advisor from Lexerta, together with the involved managers from SAG, drafted the Action Plan. This plan sets out which measures will be taken, who is responsible for the implementation, and within what timeframe the actions must be completed. In this way, a clear roadmap has been created for further improving working conditions within the organization.

Because SAG has more than 25 employees, the RI&E had to be assessed by a certified expert. The assessment was carried out by the certified expert from SAG’s own occupational health and safety service, who evaluated the timeliness, reliability, depth, and completeness. In addition, the certified expert provided advice on the Action Plan and prepared an assessment report.

Tested RI&E and Concrete Action Plan

Thanks to the collaboration with Lexerta, SAG now has a fully tested RI&E and an Action Plan that can be implemented immediately. Managers know which measures have priority and employees are involved in creating a safer working environment.

With this structured approach, SAG can effectively work on controlling risks, improving working conditions, and ensuring safety in the production of aluminum fuel tanks. The RI&E forms a solid foundation for continuous improvement and compliance within the organization.
